Sgraffito, Italian for “to scratch,” is a method of applying contrasting slip or underglaze to leather-hard pottery and incising cuts or scratches to reveal the clay colour below the surface.

This is an intermediate skills workshop. Firing and glazing of pots is not included in the price of this class.

Participants are responsible for bringing their own leather-hard pot to work on. More details about the precise firmness of the pot will be included in further communication closer to the date.

The minimum age requirement for this workshop is 16 years.

CANCELLATIONS and REFUNDS

Classes cancelled within 72 hours of the start date are subject to a refund or credit only if a replacement is found for your signup. Classes cancelled anytime prior to 72 hours from the start date are subject to a 5% cancellation fee to cover our processing fees. Alternatively, you may request your refund be given in a Gift Card in which case there are no fees and the entire amount will be refunded to a gift card for you to use towards a future class.  Classes are subject to cancellation by Fired Clay in the case of low enrollment. If classes are cancelled by Fired Clay, you will receive a full refund, including processing fees.
